Why it sits next to training

Exposure is the raw material for phishing

A phishing or phone-scam message works best when it contains real details: a home address, a phone number, a relative's name. Data brokers collect and sell exactly those. ScrubMyPII reduces each employee's personal exposure, so there is less for an attacker to use.

Each person removes their own listings

Every employee keeps their own encrypted profile. The protection follows the person, at home as well as at work, which is where most of the exposed details come from.

It pairs with BreachMon

ScrubMyPII removes what anyone can look up. BreachMon watches for logins that have already leaked. Together they cover both halves of the problem.

Who should we look for?

The more you tell us, the fewer false matches. Fields marked required are needed. In ScrubMyPII, everything is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored.

The catalog

105 data brokers, and how bad each one is

These are the companies ScrubMyPII knows about today. Each one is rated on how much of you it holds, who can see it, and how hard it is to leave, so you can see what is at stake before you press go.

    How we get you off

    What kind of company

How we rate, and what a rating is not

    Exposure · up to 50

How much of you this kind of company typically holds: addresses, relatives, records, device IDs.

    Reach · up to 25

Who can see or buy it. Open to anyone scores highest; sold only to vetted professionals scores lowest.

    Friction · up to 24

How hard it is to leave: a web form is easy, an email is slower, a manual handoff is hardest.

    Bands

    Severe 80+, High 66–79, Elevated 52–65, Moderate under 52.

These are ScrubMyPII's own ratings of how a type of broker normally works and how hard it is to leave. They are not allegations about any company's conduct, they do not reflect an audit of each broker's current data, and practices change.

      What it receives from RuleCrest

      • An opaque identifier for the person that is stable for this add-on and organization.
      • The organization, the person's name and email, and their role.
      • The seat count the organization bought.

      It does not receive

      • Anything about training results. A launch never changes a person's training record.
      • A password. RuleCrest has none to give: people sign in with passkeys.

The launch itself is described on the add-ons page.
